Bi-Monthly Billing

6/6/2022

Starting February 2022,  the company will be  reading meters and sending out water bills on a bi-monthly basis.   Customers will receive bills  6 times per year.

Note that each bi-monthly bill will reflect 2, not 1 capital improvement fees for a total of $130 as well as  billing for two months of water usages. Yes, going forward water bills may be twice as much but they will be half as frequent.

The next billing cycle will be in early March and reflect water usage from early January 2022 on as well as two monthly capital improvement fees.

This change was made due to the amount of effort is takes to read meters, processing billing statements and payments and reconcile  our accounts on our  dedicated team of volunteers. The company anticipates significant changes and  increased need for volunteers as consolidation efforts ramp up with Cal Water. There is more information  to come soon to the membership on these developments.

In conclusion, water bills will be processed bi-monthly starting this month. Anticipate  larger but less frequent water bills.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the board directly.

There are several ways that we communicate within the water company.

The first way is by direct email and/or phone - so please make sure that the board and our water master have your most up-to-date contact information.

We have a private (members only) google group - https://groups.google.com/g/kingsmountainwater. Please email Eric if you'd like access to the this group.

If social media is your thing, we have a twitter feed: @kmpwco

Lastly, we post general news and updates on this website.

The annual meeting was a held on July 26. There are no changes to the rates or assessments for 2021. Billing has been untangled and some members will be receiving retro-active invoices for unbilled usage and/or unbilled assessment fees. This will be noted in upcoming billing cycles. Lisa will replace Gail as Secretary; Gail will focus on special projects in a non-board capacity.
It was great to meet new neighbors and see old faces as well!

Thanks to Mary and Pete for hosting the wonderful event on such a gorgeous afternoon!

We take pride in the quality of our water. If you are interested in the data, all of our Consumer Confidence reports are posted online here .

The EPA requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report, also known as an
annual drinking water quality report, to their
customers. These reports provide Americans information about their local drinking water quality.

What type of information is in the report?

  • The lake, river, aquifer, or other source of the drinking water;
  • A brief summary of the risk of contamination of the local drinking water source;
  • The regulated contaminant found in local drinking water;
  • The potential health effects of any contaminant detected in violation of an EPA health standard;
  • An accounting of the system's actions to restore safe drinking water;
  • An educational statement for vulnerable populations about avoiding Cryptosporidium;
  • Educational information on nitrate, arsenic, or lead in areas where these contaminants may be a concern;
  • Phone numbers of additional sources of information, including the water system;
  • EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline number 1-800-426-4791.
State reports may have state specific information however, they must also include the basic information outlined in the federal requirements.

Do you need a reason to get out in the world and interact? Forget what it is to speak with someone? Are you burned out from sitting in your work-from-home chair of despair?

Volunteer!
It's a great way to get to know your neighbors while gaining an understanding of what it takes to reliably provide superb quality water.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please contact Tom. Remember, you will receive credit for each volunteer hour worked and can accumulate up to 10 hours per year in credit, which will then be applied to your account.
